The renovation going on in my house ended on Tuesday evening and we just finished arranging some stuff now. I can't say I'm tired... lol

I watch Nickelodeon a lot. No, I'm not sorry. Can you outgrow Nickelodeon? lol

On Tuesday, I was watching Spongebob. If you've been watching Spongebob, you'd know how Plankton is always looking to steal the secret formula for the Krabby Patties from the Krusty Crabs restaurant, so his own restaurant, the Chum Bucket can grow and expand. But, Mr Krabs always catches the guy. Always. And spongebob, who's the head chef, well only chef at the Krusty Krabs, who looks like he can be played or fooled, out of his honest heart, usually outsmarts Plankton.

In other words, Plankton has never succeeded in stealing the secret formula.

Alright, that's part of the competition in the business world in the cartoon, Spongebob Squarepants. Now let's move to that episode I watched on Tuesday and the lessons I learned there.

In this episode, Plankton is looking to hire Spongebob to be his chef instead of at the Krusty Krabs. I mean, 😂 the guy is desperate and is always coming up with new methods.



But Spongebob doesn't give him audience and so while he (Plankton) was trying to get the attention of Squidward (the cashier at Krusty Krabs) , he landed on his head. lol
If you watch it, you'd know how tiny Plankton is.

As Plankton landed on Squidward's head by accident, an idea suddenly popped in Squidward's head.💡 How ironical 😆
Squidward has always wanted to be in the spotlight. The guy feels like life isn't fair and is even more unfair by making him neighbours with Spongebob and Patrick ( Spongebob's best friend ).
The guy has no chills at all.
So what was his idea?

That he (Squidward) would help Plankton out with his restaurant and give him other recipes, well, his grandma's recipe to be precise, and from there, customers will leave the Krusty Krabs restaurant and come to the Chum Bucket.
What's in it for Squidward?
Since he has always wanted to be in the spotlight, of course, if you can take Krusty Krabs restaurant out of business, you gats be really dope; so when people come, especially the press, to ask who the new chef is and what the secret is, he (Squidward), can be in that position to say he's the chef, and that the recipe is his secret.
That makes him mysterious and special.

After he told Plankton he's interested in the job offer, Spongebob was surprised, saying it was a, 'conflict of interests', I've forgotten the exact word he used, or maybe that's it, seeing that he would work with Plankton and Mr Krabs at the same time.
Then suddenly, my guy Squidward said he quit. As a cashier at the Krusty Krabs of course.

Trust me, by the time Squidward was done arranging Plankton's laboratory looking restaurant to a proper looking one, and changing the recipe and method of his meals, there was a really long line of people waiting to take Squidward's autograph. The guy was a god!

Plankton gets his customers, Squidward gets his fans. Everyone's happy.

At a point though, the business collapsed. How?

1. The recipe Squidward brought for the meal was from his Grandma and required certain steps into making it as sumptuous as what could bring money in. One of it being that it had to cook for 24 hours. No more, no less. 24 hours. That's the plan.
Now as a business owner/entrepreneur, there are certain things in your business, according to Pareto's Principle. That's the 80:20 rule. What's the meaning of that? It means that there's a twenty percent of your business that brings about your eighty percent profit/result. That's your selling point.
You gats know your selling point.

2. Plankton expanded. Squidward got famous.
As long as you have a business, you gats have it at the back of your mind that you will blow. Be optimistic about your business. Apart from that, when you blow, how will you behave? In what way will it affect your business?

3. This should have been number one but eh. When Squidward entered Plankton's supposed restaurant and saw that it didn't look appealing one bit, and that the taste of his chum was even less appealing, he changed everything. Every single thing that was needed to make it a dope restaurant, he made it happen.

As a business owner/entrepreneur, you have to know the things that are affecting your business and not making it grow. This is very important. Extremely important. Give your business an appealing look.
Experience also matters here. Either from you, or from someone else.

4. When Squidward decided to partner with Plankton, he knew he was going to get something out of it.

As a business owner/entrepreneur, when looking for those to partner with, because you definitely can't be jack of all trades, what are you bringing to the table? Don't forget Squidward quit his job at Krusty Krabs. So you gats be able to convince me, even if I'm not able to convince myself, that if I'm quitting my job to come work with you, it has to be worth it.
Ask yourself, what am I bringing to the table?

5. Squidward suddenly quit his job. Imagine that Mr Krabs isn't nice and doesn't like money, or that it was the real world, would Squidward have had something to fall back on?

If you're working a salary earning job or doing side hustles and someone suddenly comes to you to be a business partner with them, or you're considering starting your own business, do not, I repeat, do not leave your present job until you're already making at least 50% more than your present salary. Don't be stupid.



6. Back to the new recipe that's supposed to be cooked for 24 hours.
When customers started to increase, more and more, and Squidward started enjoying the fame, he started getting impatient. So, instead of the meal cooking for 24 hours to give it the desired effect, he started hurrying up Plankton to serve the meal five minutes to 24 hours. This is where the problem started.

As a business owner/entrepreneur, always stick to your process strictly. Always! Never treat your twenty percent lightly. Never forget your process o. Even if your customers start getting impatient, let them know that so so so time is required for you to deliver good service.
When they see that you take process seriously, they will respect you. I'm not saying you shouldn't welcome new ideas, I'm just saying, once there's a process that has always worked for you, do not scatter it.
Never mess up your process.

7. I'd have loved to talk about how you should always come up with a counter effect, as when Mr Krabs ran out of customers, they didn't do anything about it. I think they tried to do something, like see what the Chum Bucket had that the Krusty Krabs didn't have. But, they were ridiculed.

So I'm just going to end with this, never ever ridicule your competitors. No matter what. Tables could turn, you may need something from them, you could cook up something together.
Please maintain your lane. Up your game.

Anyway, Squidward's grandma found out he was messing with the recipe and came to deal with him. Somehow, the customers heard about it, and they beat up Plankton because Squidward pointed an accusing finger at him😂😂😂
So be careful of those you allow in your empire. Some people will look for your mistakes so they can bring you down. Some people are only there for the benefits.
Do not allow them.
